There are those who threaten,
and those who scorn – to them give no credit.
The storm is fierce but I see through
the harsh wind to eternity.
To there I walk with open arms to
greet you and they as I go along.
We see much more than we must know
and feel the way, as we go.
I laughed once more but not for pain,
I laughed as grace and of my gain.
I know that happiness now is slight,
but through our journey
is ours to light.
Things have been much good to us.
I was here when all the stars were
made and remember the joy they bade.
I am here now that the evening sun
is gone and remember well the early dawn.
